"As required by law, a superhero team requires at least five members, two adults. But we'll keep an eye out for you, buddy."
-Agent Granite, to Neypalm Veyper regarding funding for a super team

When he was a boy, Jack Wick wanted to be a superhero. Sadly, he never developed powers, and he didn't quite have the money to make his own. So he became a police officer. Things were great, but when rumors spread of a government agency for the protection and funding of superheroes, he left it all behind to be a step closer to living his dream. Now going by the codename Granite, this semi-public Man In Black is tasked with personally checking on super teams, both official and amateur, to better help them prepare against the fight against supercrime.

"Superheroes" are merely a narrative shortcut for the very real use of huge organizations of people to accomplish tasks that are well beyond the capabilities of one person... imho this guy and dudes like Agent Coulson from S.H.I.E.L.D. are far more inspiring than the supers themselves.

It's hard to come up with a reply to this because this is a very good point that I never considered until today.

I learned something today.
